| Your pedigree search account allows you to keep a complete online record of your kennel, dogs, bitches and puppies but can appear a little daunting when you log in for the first time - in this guide we'll talk you through getting your account set up and also the most efficient order in which to do things to get all of your details uploaded in the minimum of time. |

| Please note - the Pedigree Search service is only for UK Kennel Club registered dogs and bitches. Puppies advertised for sale must be the progeny of KC registered dogs / bitches and be KC registered before going to their new owners. |

| And we'll go through each of these section in turn, please note that the order that we work through these is also the most efficient order in which to approach the setup of your account for reasons that will become apparent later on. |

| Personal / Kennel Details |
| |
| Once your account setup is completed and you log in for the first time you'll be taken straight to your administration page, the section we're interested in initially is the 'Breeders Details' section which looks somewhat like the following : |

| This part of the admin page is pretty much self explanatory - it will show the details that you entered when initially creating your account and the 'edit' links allow you to change any of those settings. Note that you have the option of displaying or hiding information that you may prefer to keep private, such as your e-mail address. If these details are hidden visitors will still be able to contact you by using the 'contact breeder' form that is included in all breeder and ad listings. |

| Also you'll see in this section a link 'View Breeder profile', this link will display your breeder profile exactly as it will be seen by visitors and is useful for checking that everything is showing exactly as you intended. |

| Uploading Your Pictures |
| |
| The next section shows the number of pictures / photographs that you have uploaded to the server and associated with your breeder profile : |

| |
| The 'Manage Your Pictures' link will take you to a further screen where you can upload and delete pictures from the system. It will initially be empty but once you have some pictures uploaded it will show your pictures as shown below : |

| |
| When you start adding your dogs, bitches and ads to the system you'll be able to select a picture to be associated with each from the ones you've uploaded so you should now upload any pictures you need ready for your listings / ads. There is a comprehensive guide to uploading pictures on the upload page itself. |

| Please note - a listing or ad is not required to have a picture associated with it, this is optional. However, where possible you should include a picture for each, ads that include a photograph definitely receive more enquires than those without. Dog / bitch profiles and ads are fully editable so if you don't have pictures ready straight away you can still add them to the system and edit them later to include a picture. |

| Details of your current dogs / bitches |

| Now it's time to start adding your dogs and bitches to the system, this is done through the relevant links as shown below : |

| |
| Clicking on the 'Add Dog' or 'Add Bitch' links will take you through a three stage form, the first section gathers the required details on the dog / bitch such as breed, date of birth etc., the second section allows you to select a picture from those you have uploaded and the final section allows you to enter a three generation pedigree for the dog or bitch. |

| If you are adding multiple generations from the same line our system can speed things up considerably by removing some of the typing associated with adding the pedigree details, this works as follows : |

| |
| When you add your first dog / bitch there will be nothing listed in the Sire / Dams name drop down lists (shown above) and you will need to type the name in but once you have dogs / bitches on the system they will appear in this drop down and can be selected in subsequent listings. |
| |
| This means that if, for example, you own two bitches that are mother and daughter if you add the mother first then when you then go to add the daughter you will be able to pick her mothers name from the drop down list and when you get to the pedigree section of the daughters form you'll find it has already been populated with the details from the mothers side. For this reason if you have multiple generations of the same line you should always add them in order oldest to youngest. |

| As soon as dogs / bitches are added to your account they will appear in your admin page and in your 'breeders profile'. |
| |
| Please note - To be included in the results of a breeder search on the site you MUST have at least one dog / bitch of the selected breed in your profile. For instance if a visitor does a search for Boxer breeders you will only be included in the results if you have at least one Boxer dog or bitch currently listed in your breeder profile. Just creating a Puppy ad will not included you in breeder search results. |

| Creating puppy advertisements |
| |
| The next section allows you to create and manage adverts for puppies that you have available for sale. If you have a litter of puppies to advertise start by clicking on the 'Create New' link and you'll be taken to a three stage form for the required details, similar to the forms you complete when adding your dogs / bitches. |

| Much the same as when adding dogs / bitches the first stage requests details of the litter, the second allows you to attach a picture to the ad and the last is the litters pedigree details. The pedigree details work the same as the add dog / bitch forms so you'll be able to select the dam's (and sires if he belongs to you) name from the drop down menu on the first page and have the pedigree details completed automatically. |

| Please note that puppy ads do not have any time limitation and will remain live in the site for as long as the ad exists within your account - be sure to keep puppy ads up to date by editing the ad when things change, such as the number of puppies available, and delete the ad once you have homed all of the puppies to prevent your ad from receiving additional enquiries. |

| Please do NOT create multiple ads for the same litter - all ads placed are manually scrutinised by our team and duplicates will be deleted without notice. |

| Creating stud dog advertisements |
| |
| The next section of your administration page allows you to ad and manage which of the dogs you have listed under your account are marked as available for stud, click on the 'Create New' link to proceed to the form. |

| This is a much simpler form which allows you to just choose the dog that you wish to advertise and to add the stud price / details - the stud dog ads use the information already entered on the system for the dog and just marks them as available for stud (and includes the price) so that they will be included in stud dog searches on the site. |

| Adding show results |
| |
| If any of your dogs or bitches have achieved success in competition you can add details here and they will be included in the dog or bitches profile when viewed by a visitor to the site, click on the 'Add Show Result' link to proceed to the form. |

| |
| This is again a very simple form just requiring you to select the dog or bitch to which the result applies and enter the date and event details which will then be saved to the system and attached to the relevant dog / bitches profile. |
| |
| Making payment / renewal |
| |
| When your account is initially set up it is in a suspended (expired) status, this allows you to administer your account and carry out all of the functions described above but your details will not actually be live on our system for visitors to view until you have made payment and your account status is set as 'Live' . |

| The 'view' links in your administration page which show your breeders profile, ads etc. will work for you when logged in but not for anybody else - this allows you to create your account, add your details and make sure everything is correct before committing to payment. Once everything is place then click on the 'Renew Subscription / Make Payment' link : |

| |
| This link will take you to a further page where you can choose to pay immediately via secure debit / credit card transaction, send a cheque by post or pay direct via online banking (if offered by your bank). |
| |
| Events / Breed Clubs / Local Clubs |
| |
| As a Pedigree Search member you are also now able to add entries to our events, breed clubs and local dog clubs listing - just follow the links on the Clubs / Events menu on the site to add entries. You will need to be logged in first. |
